For a long time Marantz have been a leader on the HI-FI and Stereo front, with excellent Tuners, brilliant turn tables, probably the best CD Players ever to be made. Many have doubted that Marantz will effectively compete in the Home Theatre market against rivals Yamaha, NAD, Pioneer etc. 


With their newest series of Receivers they have shocked the market not only with exceptional great functionality and quality, but with a beautiful design which is futuristic, yet wife friendly.

Marantz SR 1602 AV Receiver

Building on 2010’s hugely successful NR1601, this new 7.1-capable Receiver delivers room-filling quality sound thanks to the discrete built 7x 50 W RMS output stages. Obviously, the compact design is not at the expense of power, nor of features. On the video side, the four HDMI 1.4 inputs all support 3D video and Audio Return Channel (ARC), while all analogue video signals are converted to HDMI level including I/P conversion. The on-board Ethernet port allows for audio streaming from home networks or subscription-based web-services, and gives access to over 14,000 Internet radio stations worldwide.

Marantz’s NR1602 even has the hot AirPlay feature already built-in that lets you unleash your iTunes or iPhone/iPod touch/iPad music libraries to the AV Receiver. Thanks to the network connection, the AV Receiver can easily be controlled through a free Marantz Wizz App for Apples iDevices. Add a front USB input with digital iPod/iPhone playback, Audyssey MultEQ room calibration, Dynamic Volume and Dynamic EQ, as well as an easy setup guided by the multi-language Setup Wizard with on screen-display, and you realise this neat machine is not short on talent. It fits high-end performance into a beautifully compact chassis, hence satisfying the most demanding of interior designers.

Marantz SR 5006 AV Receiver

The SR5006 also features the famous Marantz circular display, and it has the same networking facilities as his bigger brothers for audio streaming, Internet radio, and AirPlay from any iDevice. It also includes decoders for standard audio as well as for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.

Marantz SR 6006 AV Receiver

With the famous Marantz circular display, the new SR6006 looks a lot like

its big brother – the SR7005. But the resemblance doesn’t stop there. For example, it has the same networking facilities for audio streaming, Internet radio, and AirPlay from any iDevice. There’s also a highly convenient HDMI on the front, and two more on the rear for simultaneous output. And, also like its brother, it has an iPod-digital-compatible USB input and a Phono MM input for vinyl fans. But it’s not all about versatility, the SR6006 is also powerful: 7x 110W rms to be exact. Marantz SR 7005 AV Receiver

The new SR7005 AV Receiver with 7x 125W into 8 ohms keeps cross channel contamination to an absolute minimum for ultra-precise signal processing. The “muscle” power of the system comes from the current feedback circuitry with Marantz HDAMs and an oversized low impedance transformer for rapid current supply.

 Not even extreme demands for power will pull the SR7005 off balance. The “brain” of the system is the latest 400Mhz Sharc DSP, which easily handles HD audio decoding including the Audyssey DSX and the MultEQ XT room calibration. 

The source signal can be either digital or analogue, and it can also be from a wide variety of inputs. First of all, via the six HDMI 1.4a inputs, one of which is hidden behind the front flap for easy access. For new media there is a iPod-digital-compatible USB input, while the RJ45 Network jack provides connection to vTuner Internet radio and music services such as Napster and last.fm. You can even access your music library stored on computer . 

Classical analogue signals will come from the built-in FM tuner or via either the analogue input jacks or the Phono equalizer: which is ideal for vinyls. Video signals are also treated with loving care by ABT2015 video processing, a host of video adjustment possibilities and two HDMI 1.4a outputs supporting 3D video. It’s all there, eager to please.

I should have known something was different the moment the SR7005's curvy-sided fascia came out of the box, like Angelina Jolie emerging from the lake in Beowulf.

Based on the successful styling of Marantz's high end hi-fi equipment, this multichannel receiver is utterly gorgeous. For a long time, we thought our Kevlar® midrange cones couldn’t get any better – but then we came up with the fixed suspension transducer (FST for short). FST enhances the properties of Kevlar by acting like a circular shock absorber around the cone, absorbing the sound-smudging bending waves that travel outwards to the perimeter. A midrange driver never sounded cleaner, or more responsive.

803 Diamond

The 803 Diamond might look almost as imposing as the 802 Diamond, but thanks to its smaller footprint and more traditional cabinet design, it will fit more comfortably into a home environment. With three massive 7” Rohacell® bass drivers, it delivers almost as much bass as the 802 Diamond, filling even the largest of domestic rooms with rich, stunningly lifelike sound. 



The design and proportions of the top two speakers in the range are derived at for sound acoustic reasons – but understandably, not everyone wants the visual disruption that such a radical piece of furniture can create in a home environment. The 803 Diamond takes up less space and is arguably easier on the eye – but thanks to its three bass drivers, it generates a sound that’s almost a match for its bigger brothers.


For the 800 Series Diamond range, we’ve refined the science of magnet motor design to a fine art. Each of the 803 Diamond’s three bass drivers are powered by a dual magnet motor system, creating a more symmetrical magnetic field and reducing harmonic distortion. Meanwhile a unique quad magnet design keeps the tweeter running cool and smooth, even at the highest frequencies.

802 Diamond

If you’re looking for a speaker with the power, clarity and presence of the mighty 800 Diamond, but your listening area can’t quite accommodate its studio-sized proportions, the 802 Diamond is the answer. Retaining the groundbreaking spherical head design of its bigger brother, it’s the closest you’ll get to true studio sound at home.

While the slimmer dimensions of the 802 Diamond make it an easier fit for living spaces, the basic design retains nearly all of the features of the top-of-the-range 800 Diamond, including the teardrop form of the midrange head. Moulded from Marlan®, a synthetic, mineral filled resin, this granite-hard enclosure is sprayed with seven coats of lacquer and polished by hand until it's as smooth as glass.

As with all of the speakers in the range, the 802 Diamond features our legendary Nautilus™ tapering tube drive unit technology. First pioneered on our trailblazing Nautilus speaker, the tubes work like horns in reverse, minimising colouration by soaking up excess sound energy from the back of the driver. XT 2

Either on a bookshelf, floor stand or fixed to a wall, the versatile XT2 performs brilliantly both in a stereo set up and providing the front or rear channels in an AV system. That’s down to ingenious cabinet design and cutting-edge acoustic technology, refined and developed for our most advanced reference speakers.

The XT2 features a Nautilus™ tube-loaded aluminium dome tweeter, positioned on top of the speaker cabinet for better image stability. A single Kevlar® cone driver handles the midrange and the bass. As with all XT speakers, the body is formed from a single, seamless piece of extruded aluminium, creating an immensely rigid, stable enclosure and reducing cabinet coloration almost to zero.

You have the option of placing the XT2 on our specially designed FS-XT floor stand, or fixing it to the wall with an adjustable wave-bracket that comes included with the speaker. The XT2 is available in two finishes: natural brushed aluminum, and a stylish gloss black.

The CM8 is an elegantly proportioned, slimmed down version of the award-winning CM9. A true three-way loudspeaker that will appeal to discerning customers who demand the very best sound quality, but have limited space in which to achieve it.
Like all the models in the CM Series, the CM8 uses crossovers of remarkable simplicity and quality, so what you hear is that much closer to the sound of the original recording. In its functional perfection and understated elegance, it’s nothing less than a masterpiece. Pure and simple.
All CM Series speakers come with chrome driver trims. Grilles attach magnetically, so there are no unsightly grille-mounting features to spoil the clean lines of the speaker’s façade. For the finish, you can choose either one of two real-wood veneers in Rosenut or Wengé, or the highly polished Gloss Black.

A pair of wall-mounted DS3 surround speakers provide the all-enveloping effect of sound from the rear positions, and, if there’s a scene with a helicopter landing or a bomb going off, an ASW610XP subwoofer will let you know about it.

The imposing 683 is the genuine three-way speaker of the 600 Series, with a line-up of technologies and a level of performance that defies its entry-level place in the market. For large rooms, two 683s make a formidable partnership, either for stereo hi-fi or fronting a home theatre installation.

Deep, dynamic, bottom-end power is delivered by a pair of aluminium/paper/Kevlar® composite cone bass drive units. The 150mm Kevlar® midrange handles middle frequencies with its characteristic clarity and tunefulness, but, for the first time in a 600 Series speaker, includes FST cone surround technology for extra detail and resolution. The Nautilus™ tube-loaded, aluminium dome tweeter, featuring a new surround material to improve spaciousness and imaging, adds needle-sharp top end all the way to 50kHz and beyond.

The improvements to the drive units in the new 600 Series make it possible, for the first time, to introduce a minimalist crossover to the range. The use of components that are fewer in number but higher in quality – hand-picked in exhaustive listening tests – reduces the degradation of the signal significantly.
